First of all I want to say that I have struggled with my weight my entire life. I was heavy as a child but during the difficult teen years, I extreme dieted and exercised, and I lost all of the weight. In my early twenties, during my pregnancies, dieting was not an option and I gained all the weight back and then some. I have been struggling ever since.
Dieting ups and downs are the norm for me, and it is easier to gain weight then lose it. I try to Eat Nourishing food like fruits and vegetables, lean meats, and healthy whole grains, but sugar and fat cravings are always plaguing me. My biggest problem is late at night when I am watching TV. I want to snack on chips and cookies. Then, I feel extremely guilty, and I vow to start my diet over again the next day. I start out the day with vivaciousness but as the day wears on my resourcefulness diminishes. It’s a vicious cycle and I need to find a plan that I can stick with indefinitely.
Another key to losing weight, for me, is exercising. I have always enjoyed exercising, but it is much harder to fit in while taking care of the house and kids. If I don’t exercise, it is harder for me to stick with my diet, so I have to schedule it in my day. I know that exercise is important for me to lose weight.
It is important for me to find recipes that I can make for my entire family, as well. Paleo Diet Recipes have hundreds of recipes and ideas for healthy foods for my family that I can eat, also. This helps me when planning and sticking to my diet. Hopefully, someday, I will find the balance that will work for me.
